Pair of Enameled Bohemian Glass Bottles, Green and Gold, Moser, late 19th century

A magnificent pair of enameled Bohemian glass bottles. They feature an identical design in terms of shape and motifs but differ in size: approximately 20 x 12 cm for the larger one and 10 x 6 cm for the smaller one. The glasswork is exquisite and characteristic of the period: thick blown glass with a slight internal twist, featuring a bulbous body and a long neck opening into a flat rim. The glass is a translucent, particularly luminous chartreuse green. The decorative motifs consist of large palmettes and asymmetrical rocaille elements in raised gold enamel—accented with fine hatching—combined with delicate sprigs and floral details. The base is very thick and perfectly polished, featuring a wide circular pontil mark; each bottle bears two inscriptions: what appears to be painted gilt numerals (23 for the larger, 21 for the smaller) and a number incised or engraved into the glass (10 for the larger, 6 for the smaller). The Moser mark is absent (which is not unusual for pieces from this era, as they sometimes bore a paper label rather than a painted or engraved mark). The decorative style (gold friezes, dual gold and engraved markings) is consistent with Ludwig Moser pieces from the 1890–1895 period (several examples of which are documented). This set is particularly notable for the combination of different sizes.
