Art Glass Vase, Black and Silver, Correia, USA, 1984

Steven Correia — 1984

A beautiful cylindrical vase with a narrow neck, featuring an iridescent pattern in shades of black and silvery-blue. It is crafted from thick blown glass—appearing dark purple when held against the light—with chrome-like striations across the upper section. This piece was produced by Correia Art Glass, an American studio founded in 1973 in Santa Monica, California, by master glass artist Steven Correia. He is particularly renowned for his reinterpretations of iridescent "pulled feather" motifs, inspired by the Favrile glass of Louis Comfort Tiffany. The vase features a mirror-polished finish, creating a highly glossy, modern, and decorative effect. It is signed, dated (12/84), and numbered on the base.

Dimensions 23 x10 cm (mouth 6.5).

Excellent condition.
